Ford Fiesta – Review

Red Ford Fiesta

The Ford Fiesta has long been a staple vehicle on Britain’s roads and it is now into its sixth generation that began back in 2008. And for many years it has been king of the superminis and is Britain’s current best selling car. It dominates its rivals easily and if you are interested then there are a variety of ways to finance car models for the Fiesta.

Performance

Fiesta’s performance all relies upon the model you have chosen. The base model offers 1.25L petrol engine that can accelerate from 0-60 in 16.9 seconds and has a top speed of 94 MPH, which is perfect for a lot of people.

However, if you fancy a faster model, Ford is happy to oblige. If you are looking for any model under the ST brand, then we recommend the 1 L EcoBoost 125 Titanium X for speed. It supplies 125 bhp that delivers a top speed of 122 MPH and sprints from 0-60 in 9.40 seconds.

If speed isn’t your thing and you want a Fiesta that kills it on fuel economy then we recommend the 1.5L TDCi Style ECOnetic, which while delivering 95 bhp, a top speed of 111 MPH and a 0-60 in 11.90 seconds, it also delivers 88.3 MPG thanks to its diesel engine.

Driving

Most Fiesta models are quick and smooth and so much fun to drive. It is very responsive with sharp handling and precise, balanced steering that allows you to easily accelerate through the corners. This car’s greatest achievement is being able to always put a smile on your face whether you are simple cruising for long motorway journeys or if you are on twisted A and B roads, zipping through the countryside.

All the pedals including accelerator, brakes and clutch are precise and combined with an excellent, slick gearbox that makes driving a smooth and simple experience. The Fiesta is simple a joy to drive.

This car is not noisy except if you are working it hard to the red line. Especially on motorways, the engine noise is never intrusive and often becomes a gentle hum in the background. In the cabin you can rarely hear either engine or wind noise and if you really want to, you have to turn the radio right down and strain to hear it.

Inside

The driving position is fully adjustable including height adjustment on all models except the entry level Studio models. The driver’s seat is very supportive and comfortable, especially for long distance driving. The dashboard is on the whole easily to use, but there are a few setting you have to go searching for.

There is a great amount of leg room for both front and back passengers, with enough head room to ensure that four adults can sit comfortable with ease. The boot space with the backseats up holds 290 litres, but if you drop the rear seats you can extend that capacity up to 974 litres.

Visibility wise this car is great, with excellent front and side visibility with a heated rear window and on some models and heated windscreen is great for those winter months. Front and rear parking sensors are available on all models except the base models.

Equipment

Additional equipment in your car can include a brand new sat-nav, a rear-view camera, satellite radio and an audio system from Sony. The Fiesta is stocked with all the usually equipment but if you fancy more, then those items are available.

The Ford Fiesta is Britain’s best selling car for a reason. It is a superb supermini that has excellent handling, is pretty swift and very comfortable inside. If you are looking for a great Ford Fiesta model, then we have a variety of car finance options available for you.
