7 Day Exchange

In the unlikely event that you are not happy with the car, we offer a 7 day exchange policy where you can swop out the vehicle for another one from Hippo’s huge choice of over 800 cars. We want you to be confident that if you choose to have the car delivered to your door or prefer to collect it yourself, you are covered and have the peace of mind of knowing that Hippo have your best interests at heart not only because of what we say, but also because of what we do!

All vehicles undergo our market leading 124 point check and the car does not go out without passing our rigorous quality check which means peace of mind for you, and us!

Warranty

In addition to our best in class preparation and checking, plus the 7 day exchange policy, you also benefit from the fact that every vehicle that comes from Hippo comes with a warranty – Either the existing Manufactures warranty or where this has expired, we add our complimentary 3 month warranty.

Terms & Conditions

Hippo offer to all retail customers (not Trade Sales) a 7-Day Exchange Policy on the purchase of your vehicle. The 7 Days commence from the day after the date on which delivery or collection takes place and is inclusive of weekends and bank holidays. The 7-Day Exchange Policy is in addition to and does not affect your statutory consumer rights. It should not be considered as an alternative to your short term right to reject a vehicle due to a breach of your statutory consumer rights. To serve notice of your intention to utilise this 7-Day Exchange Policy please send your request in writing to customerservices@hippomotorgroup.co.uk

There is a duty of care for You to return the vehicle in a condition commensurate with that at the time of delivery. We will inspect the goods at the time of return and we reserve the right, entirely at our own discretion, to charge any amounts required to return the vehicle to their condition at the time of delivery.

A usage charge will be applied relating to the mileage that the vehicle has been driven under your ownership, representing the increase in miles during the period between delivery/collection of the vehicle to you and the subsequent return of the vehicle, as evidenced by the odometer at the time of return and the original mileage as documented at the point of delivery. The mileage charge will be;

For illustration, a vehicle driven 250 miles will incur no usage charge. A vehicle driven 260 miles would incur a usage charge of £8.00 (10 miles at £0.80 per mile).

We require the latest V5 document to be returned with the vehicle. If the new V5 document has not yet been provided by the DVLA at the time of return, we would require a deposit of £50.00 until such time as the correct V5 for the car has been provided, the 50.00 deposit will be returned as soon as the latest V5 had been provided. If 14 days pass without the correct V5 being provided we will retain the deposit to cover associated costs.

An agreed location, date and time for a return or collection of a vehicle will be made in writing between you and us which will be no more than 14 days from the notification by you of the exchange. Vehicle collections maybe subject to a fee, this fee will be determined based on the your collection postcode. All fees will be agreed in advance of collection, where we are delivering a replacement vehicle the collection charge will be included within the delivery charge of the replacement vehicle. If  you fail to return the goods at the agreed time we reserve the right to charge a Failed Appointment Charge. This charge will be equivalent to the delivery cost of the vehicle at the time of sale.

Once a suitable replacement vehicle has been selected we will transfer to the replacement vehicle any amounts due after adjusting for usage charges or other charges as a deposit on your replacement vehicle.

In the event you have purchased any additional products, you will be responsible for contacting the company and transferring the policy to the replacement vehicle. This can result in a charge of £25.00 which is charged by the GAP / Warranty company and not payable to Hippo Motor Group.

Where you have purchased F1 Paint Protection for your exchanged vehicle no refund will be made.

If your exchanged vehicle was purchased using a line of credit organised by us then we will work with your lender to secure a new line of credit to fund your replacement vehicle. In circumstances where we cannot secure finance for you replacement vehicle then 7-Day Exchange Policy will be deemed as void.

The 7 day exchange policy is a one time replacement and the replacement vehicle cannot in turn be replaced under the terms and conditions. Therefore your replacement vehicle will be exempt from this policy as described with these T&C’s. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
